Oregon Bride Magazine’s “Best of 2011″ Party

About a month ago, I was invited to go to the Oregon Bride Magazine‘s “Best of 2011″ Party. Megan Ward, who I am interning with at Red Pearl Designs, was up for an award from the magazine. I gladly accepted her invitation to go to the party, hoping that she would win “Best Invites” in the valley for a second year in a row. I went to the party with my friend Courtney, and we had fun finding our way to the event. Right after we go there, I could hear the MC announcing the winner of “Best Invites” so I popped into the room full of vendors to hear who had won. She got it! Red Pearl Designs won for the second year in a row!

Courtney and I scored some front row seats for the fashion show, which were reserved for brides and their friends. We had fun watching the show, which featured gowns from local designers and had actual brides walking the runway. After the show we grabbed a couple free watermelon mixed drinks, and got our picture taken at the photo booth. We took home some goody bags, which contained samples of cookies, shampoo, and makeup! We also got a free advance copy of the Fall/Winter 2011 issue of Oregon Bride Magazine, which contained info about all the winners from the event. All in all it was a great time! Plus I got to see Megan win her award!

Internship at Red Pearl Designs

Megan Ward, with her husband Ryan

I recently started working with Megan Ward of Red Pearl Designs! I’ll be interning with her during the summer, and we have already made some fabulous plans. Check out her website and blog to get a feel for what we will be working on.

This is a great opportunity for me to get involved in the design community. Working with Megan will not only help me to build my design skills, but will give me experience with clients too. I’m really looking forward to learning a lot in the coming months.
